I was talking with a coaching client last week and she said something very insightful.
“I have been on a job search for a while now and keep running into brick walls and closed doors. Then, after talking with you, I realized what was happening … the doors I was knocking on were part of my career to date. I am ready to reset my career. It is time for a change. The Universe knew it before I did. Thank you closed doors!”
There are all kinds of reasons that you might experience closed doors while on a job search:
- You might be approaching your search with fear-based goals.
- You might be ready for a career change, but you are pursuing a career based on the “past” you. Who you are today no longer resonates with that career. It’s time for a change.
- We might have all kinds of limiting beliefs that are blocking us from getting the interviews we thought we would be getting.
