CEO, Founder and a Woman in Tech
FIRST, SHE WAS A CODER. Laurie studied business and information technology (IT) at the University of Texas. She started as a computer programmer before moving into IT recruiting and technology sales. She founded The Laso Corporation, a boutique Information Technology search firm, in 1995. Laso has evolved into InspiHER Tech, supporting Laurie’s mission to bring equal pay and opportunities to women while removing biases that get in the way of fostering an inclusive information technology team.
Dubbed a “Champion of Others” by clients, she believes growth starts from the inside – for people and companies. She serves on the advisory board for Hub88, a tech hub in Chicago’s west suburbs, as a mentor for the INCubatoredu program for high school entrepreneurs, is a long term member of her local Chamber of Commerce, and volunteers with her city’s Fine and Cultural Arts Commission. Laurie regularly coaches, leads workshops and speaks ON career, collaboration and culture and speaks UP for women in the IT workplace.
