When I think about Independence Day, I know that Freedom is what I believe is our deepest yearning.

Free to be ourselves.
Free to pursue our dreams without restrictions.
Free of financial worries.
Free of unfulfilling work.
Free of fear.
Free to live from our true nature.

The problem is we get caught up in our daily lives waiting…for more time, money, that milestone, those kids to launch, Medicare to kick in, a sign of certainty.

And what we gain by waiting is a bunch of the woulda, coulda, shouldas.

Let Shel Silverstein Inspire Your Career Change

I read this poem recently from master storyteller Shel Silverstein.  It gave me one simply goal…to do.

No more waiting to feel freedom.

Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas by Shel Silverstein
All the Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
Layin’ in the sun,
Talkin’ bout the things
They woulda-coulda-shoulda done…
But those Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
All ran away and hid
From one little did.

Now is the time to set ourselves free and claim our freedom and our own personal Independence Day.
