“I feel so guilty,” my client said.
She’d spent almost no time on her job search. Why? Because she was managing two condo units —one nearby, the other across the country — prepping both for rental. That meant days of decisions, logistics, conversations … and SURPRISE, mouse droppings.
She hadn’t followed through on her job search commitments, and she felt bad about it … like she was falling behind. After all, she was recently laid off. She needed to stay focused, keep applying, keep networking… right?
Or did she?
Then came the Alchemist Gold.
She paused and said: “The funny thing is, two people I did not know reached out to me on LinkedIn out of the blue. I’ve got two interviews scheduled.”

Keeping Your Job Search Faucet On and Enjoying the Summer
I may have shared this idea before, but it’s worth repeating: You can keep your Job Search Faucet on while doing other things — prepping a rental, going on vacation, enjoying summer with your kids, caring for someone, or just taking a much-needed self-care break — and you can still get interviews, get invited to a networking event, or have people you have not heard from in years reach out to you.
Yet, this concept requires a hefty dose of trust. It feels a bit scary.
Because it’s easy to believe that if you step away, even for a little while, everything will stop. But here’s what I want you to know:
You can set down your job search and pick it back up without missing a beat.
The key? Deciding to leave the faucet on.
That means:
You don’t shut down your desire. You don’t shut off the possibility. You allow good things — connections, interviews, synchronicities — to continue flowing, even while your focus shifts elsewhere.
You trust that your job search doesn’t only move forward when you’re in it.
You trust that there’s momentum even in the pause.
You trust that your energy — your alignment — matters more than your output.
This Is a Spiritual Decision
Yes, I said it. This is a spiritual decision. It’s a choice to believe:
- You are supported. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing. You are safe.
- You are guided. Even in rest, you are aligned with Divine Wisdom.
- You are limitless. Miracles don’t operate on timelines. Interviews from nowhere? Why not.
- You are enough. You have everything you need for the moment you’re in.
Life ebbs and flows. Needs arise. And when your inner voice says slow down, take a break, tend to someone, or go have fun — listen.
The faucet is still on.
The job search is still working for you.
The momentum is still there.
And you are at peace doing exactly what you are drawn to do right now.
