I write a blog every week. It seems crazy to me that I’ve been able to do that since 2018. For the most part, the blog writing comes easily which is why I think I have been able to be so consistent.
Yet, there are times when I think to myself, โI do not have one more idea in me. I do not know what to write about. I don’t know what to do.โ
I’ve heard a similar version of this with my coaching clients. This idea thatย they’ve tried everythingย they can think to do to improve their careers or figure out the next step in their job search.
They tell themselves, โI just don’t know what to do next. I tried everything and no luck.โ
The conundrum is that by telling yourself some version of โI donโt know what to doโ is exactly the reason you donโt know what to do!
One of the concepts we work on insideย Career Alchemy Academyย isย building our SQ. Not our IQ. Not our EQ. Our SQ.ย Our Spiritual Intelligence.
When we focus on building our SQ we build trust in our Inner Authority.
When our Inner Authority comes up against sentences like โI donโt know what to do nextโ it callsย BULLSH*T!
We do know what to do.
We have the resources to figure out what to do.
We have inside of us everything we need to know in order to take the next step, which is all we ever need to do.
How to tune in to your Inner Authority and figure out what to do next in your career or your job search.
This week, when I said to myself that I did not know what to blog about, I knew those words were the signal that I needed to tune into Inner Authority.
4 Steps to Tuning In to Your Inner Authority
Step 1: Get quiet.
Step 2: Ask your Inner Authority 1 Question. โIf I did know what to blog about what would that be?โ For you it might be, โIf I did know what to do next what would I do?”
Step 3: Listen.ย For as long as it takes just stay quiet and โlistenโ for a response. Something will rise up inside you. Your Inner Authority loves to work with your mind to solve problems so get it working on the problem of โI donโt knowโ.
Step 4:ย Once you hear the guidance from your Inner Authorityย act on it. Even if it seems a bit out there it does not matter. You will begin to understand better the language of your Inner Authority when you act on its guidance.
Once I listened, I got exactly the advice I needed.
My Inner Authority reminded me that women often think that they do not know what step to take next in job search or career when they actually do!
My next step was to write this blog as a reminder that you always have access to your Inner Authority.
Your Inner Authority loves to hear from you. It wants to participate in your career and life as a full partner. Because it is you!
I actually did know. And you do too!
