Apparently, this month marks my seventh anniversary of my company, InspiHER Tech.

Sad Truth: I didn’t even remember this until I started receiving messages from my LinkedIn community!

What’s up with that?

I knew I had to change this up.

Inside Career Alchemy Academy, much of our work, beyond building our career vision, taking action on your career dreams and using the Alchemist Tools, is about building our capacity to be with hard things:

  • Disappointment when the job offer doesn’t come.
  • Conflict at work.
  • Missing out on the promotion.
  • Being put on a PIP.
  • Loss or change in life.

It’s human nature to dwell on what’s not going well. We ask ourselves, “Why did this happen? What’s wrong with me? Who’s at fault? What can I do better?”

I cannot say enough about the importance of spending time with these questions!

  • We get better at evaluating situations for Alchemy Gold (the gift in the misstep).
  • We become experts at redirecting our limiting thoughts to more useful and productive ones.
  • We learn how to regulate our emotions in the moment so we can respond calmly and proactively.
  • We get good at having the capacity to hold steady when life feels heavy.

But What About Our Capacity for Celebration?

Here’s the thing: celebration requires capacity too.

And most of us skip right past it.

We treat wins like an “of course” moment: Of course, I got that promotion—I worked for it. Of course I landed the client. Of course I made the transition.

And then, before we know it, we’re on to “Now what? What’s next?”

Now, hear this: Stopping to celebrate isn’t frivolous. It’s essential.

Celebration is how we cement as truth and teach our brains and hearts: I do hard things. I create my dreams. I live in the proof of what’s possible. What I have done is worth my time, appreciation, acknowledgement and celebration!

The hard times build the strength to go again.

The celebrations remind you that it’s worth it.

My Plans to Build my Celebration Capacity and Appreciate my Career Milestone

This weekend, I’m celebrating. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

🎉 I’ll be sitting on my patio and lifting a glass (OK a Starbucks) to InspiHER Tech.

🎉 I’ll appreciate the courage it took for me to shift from recruiting to coaching.

🎉 I’ll honor the investments I’ve made in building my expertise and my business.

🎉 I’ll be saying loud THANK YOU’s to my clients—past and present—who placed their trust in me, who referred me, who are joining me on the path of leaning into spiritual guidance and creating a differently ambitious career that will change work culture for the better.

And I’ll acknowledge both the challenges that built my resilience and the wins that expanded my belief in me and my capacity to hold both the disappointments and the successes.

Because both matter.

Now It’s Your Turn to Celebrate 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I invite you to pause and reflect:

  • Where have you rushed to say “next” instead of fully integrating the experience of the success of what you’ve achieved?
  • What is truly worth celebrating in your life right now?
  • Which skills, strengths, or decisions helped you reach this milestone?
  • What challenges did you overcome that make this win even sweeter?
  • Who or what supported you along the way, and how can you honor that?
  • How do your past achievements connect to and reflect you’re the differently ambitious career transformation you are in?

Take a few deep breaths. Let yourself really sit in the moment and acknowledge your success before moving forward.

We give our full attention to our problems.

Now it’s time to pause and give our full attention to our successes too.
