About the Senior Ruby SOFTWARE ENGINEER/Product Owner Position:

Join a team of 6 focused on designing and developing tools and applications for groups across the technology organization. The team pairs closely with other technologists to scope out their project needs.

About the Senior Ruby SOFTWARE ENGINEER/Product Owner Responsibilities: 

In this role you will be the sole product owner for a monitoring application that was developed inhouse using Ruby and Clojure on a Unix platform. You will: 

• Support the current product and determine the next steps for the product 
• Map out modifications, enhancement and/or prepare for and implement a complete rewrite
• Lead a team (eventually will hire more developers under this person). 
• Be involved on deciding which data needs to be up-to-the-second actionable and which data needs to be watched over longer periods of time
• Be the communication mechanism for the data whether it be alerts, dashboards or complex data visualization
• Reduce risk by bringing the dependencies to the latest versions.  

About the Senior Ruby SOFTWARE ENGINEER/Product Owner Requirements:

• 10+ years designing and developing Ruby software applications
• 8+ years’ experience with Unix/Linux 
• Experience with Clojure, JavaScript, jRuby and Python are highly desirable
• Must have worked with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, etc. 
• Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced agile environment
• Enjoy guiding, leading and mentoring more junior engineers 
• Strong communication and verbal collaboration skills are necessary
• Excels at trouble-shooting and data background
• Passion for the Financial Services Industry
